If you live with Deby, you are in the heart of Buenos Aires. The flat is very comfortable and cosy (can you say so?), not far from the subte and bus stops, the 17th floor offers a gorgeos view, the rooms are perfectly clean and neat (a maid cleans it several times a week). Everything is round the corner: the supermarket, the washing saloon, the bakery, the fruteria, there is a pharmacy very close and there are lots of excellent restaurants in the area around. To live with Deby means that you are part of Deby’s life – the life of a porteña, the life of a tango dancer. Leave your life at home and be open to live the life of an Argentine – you will love it!

t was the best that could have happened to us! We spent almost 6 great weeks with a wonderful host: The first days she accompanied us wherever we wanted to go, she instructed us how to go by subte or colectivo, how to stop a taxi and how to instruct the taxi driver to take the shortest way. She helped us to find the nearest bank or the ticket office for the coche cama. We enjoyed the time standing in the kitchen and drinking mate, it was a great experience to meet so many interesting people at the parties in her flat, we were at feria de mataderos, we enjoyed Las Olivas, she gave us the address of the best leather shops. She is an excellent cook and a very good tango dancer. Thank you for the great tango lessons and your patience.

I travelled alone to BA to improve my tango dancing and take part in a literature class of Argentine authors. It was my first trip and I wanted to stay with someone who knew the tango scene and was willing to give me some direction on where to go. Staying with Deby was perfect. She took me along to the milongas where the locals hang out and gave me lots of pointers on where to take lessons, buy shoes and eat the best pastries. Deby was not only a perfect host, she became a friend to who’s outings and parties I was invited. I will stay with her again when I return.

I prepared most meals in her well equipped kitchen, ate breakfast on the balcony and was greeted by Maxi’s wagging tail after returning from an outing. Deby is fun and open and made it possible to truly experience the Porteño way of life. Her place is in an upscale barrio, a couple of blocks from a major Subte (metro) hub. I felt safe walking around at night. If you want to have fun – stay with Deby!

I had such a great time in Buenos Aires and I owe it to staying at Casa de Deby. Deby took me to so many incredible places that I would never have known about. I was taken to the best Milongas, saw live tango bands, met friends of Deby's went to an asado. Staying with Deby is a window into life in Bs. As. Amazing, overwhelming, beautiful, charming, perfect! Specifically the room is comfy, large bed, large closet, and the bathroom is clean and was all mine. I am grateful to have met and stayed with Deby, she made my stay comfortable and incredible!

This was my first trip to Buenos Aires and my first time traveling alone in years. Deby made me feel welcome and like I had a friend even before I arrived. She takes care of you, helps you find the places you need and want to see. She provides the perfect balance of hospitality and friendliness. Casa de Deby is spotless and beautiful. The location is amazing - very close to Plaza Italia, so the Subte (subway) and most any bus you want are just a couple of blocks away. Cabs pass by very regularly, so the location allows you to have access to any part of the city. There are restaurants, various food shops, and other shopping nearby, as well as the Zoo and the Botanical Gardens. If you like pets, then her adorable cat JerryBrown and sweet dog Maxmiliana are a wonderful bonus - made me not miss my pets quite so much. The worst part is having to leave. You will be saying goodbye to a place that feels like home and to a new friend. I can't wait to plan my next trip!!!

My experience at Casa de Deby has been excellent! Deby’s apartment is so beautiful, the view is stunning, and the neighborhood is one of the best in Buenos Aires. But best of all, from the moment I arrived Deby has been a great friend and has helped me through navigating the in’s and out’s of the town. Everything from explaining to me the bus and subway system, finding me great Spanish and tango teachers, and taking me to my first milonga. The culture here is much different than in the US, without Deby’s help I would have felt lost!

I wanted to thank you again for sharing your home and life with me.  We should definitely keep in touch.  Maybe you can remind me to slow down once in a while.  Even the cab ride back seemed too fast - I hadn't realized how much I liked things slower.  Will send you pictures once my life is in order.
